The role

You’ll join a market-focused development team working closely with quants and traders to find edges in the markets. The team is responsible for the algorithmic trading system underpinning all algorithmic trading in the company, spanning multiple continents and involving tens of thousands of trades every day.

The role contains classical software development but immerses you in the world of optimization, data science, statistics, and trading. You'll actively contribute to enhancing our algorithmic trading strategies and systems, leveraging your technical prowess to analyze complex market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with our quantitative researchers and traders to build new solutions and algorithms for algorithmic trading.
•  Build tools that allow quants to perform rapid exploratory analysis of market data.
• Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure our application architecture scales with the business.

Job Requirements

• A master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related field.
• Experience with building software as a software engineer.
• Eagerness to learn.

Desirable Qualifications

These are among the things we work with – experience is valuable, but willingness to learn is more important:

• Experience in C# and/or Python.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, or a competing cloud platform.
• Experience with data pipeline tools, streaming, or batch processing.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Timescale, or other database management systems.
• Introductory understanding of data science disciplines such as M Land statistics.
• Experience working within the energy sector.
