We are seeking five talented and ambitious Industrial PhD/Postdoc Candidates to join our interdisciplinary research community. Your contribution will be vital in developing innovative solutions for the global energy landscape, benefiting people, profit, and planet.
Examples of research areas:
- PtX – a universal optimization engine Research into mathematical and computational techniques to success in the complex sequential decision making across multiple markets with inherent path-dependency stemming from energy storage.
- PtX – techno-economic analysis Determine the viability of PtX-projects. This involves evaluating the technical feasibility of the project, estimating the capital and operating costs, and projecting the expected revenue and profits.
- IoT solutions for household energy flexibility and prosumer empowerment Leverage residential energy flexibility through an IoT solution platform to empower households to become prosumers, reducing bills, and increasing energy independence. This platform considers various aspects such as small-scale energy storage, rooftop PV, electric vehicles, and battery management to help homeowners manage their energy usage more efficiently.
- Corporate PPAs Intermittent renewable energy investments, such as wind and solar, carry significant risks. To ensure robust renewable infrastructure expansion, it is essential to mitigate these risks through specialized contracts. However, the financial and legal complexities of these agreements call for innovative research to address both aspects effectively.
