We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meteorologist to join our dynamic team at Norlys Energy Trading. As a Meteorologist in our Power Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of our energy trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret weather data from various sources to provide accurate and timely weather forecasts.
Analyze meteorological data to assess risks related to weather-related disruptions to energy supply, demand, and transportation.
Collaborate with energy traders and analysts to understand how weather patterns can influence energy prices and trading strategies.
Stay current with long-term climate trends and their potential impact on energy markets.
Assist in the development and improvement of meteorological models and tools used for energy trading and risk management.
Clearly communicate weather-related insights and forecasts to the trading team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a meteorologist with a focus on energy markets, trading, or risk management.
Strong knowledge of weather forecasting, meteorological models, and data analysis.
Proficiency in using meteorological software and tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex meteorological information to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced trading environment.
A keen interest in energy markets and the ability to connect weather patterns to trading strategies.
Understanding of energy trading principles is a plus.
