Power Trader – Entry Level

Are you a recent university graduate with a passion for finance, numbers, and the energy market? Are you eager to kick-start your career as a Power Trader and make an impact in the industry? Norlys Energy Trading is an emerging player in the international power and gas trading markets. With a focus on renewable energy, we aim to become a top-performing European trading house. Join our team of dedicated professionals and contribute to creating a sustainable future through efficient energy management.

As an entry level Power Trader, you will play a vital role in our Power Trading team. You will develop opinions on price levels in the market and trade accordingly to generate profits. We are currently expanding our coverage in Europe, and we need your expertise to contribute to our success. We are looking for four applicants for different areas within our Power Trading team, and thus the position will be tailored to your abilities and wants with great opportunities to develop professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay informed about relevant market information and share insights with the rest of the team.
  • Participate in daily trade floor discussions on weather, fundamentals, politics, and other market factors.
  • Participate in daily operations in trading power throughout Europe, both in physical and financial markets.
  • Gather, process, and analyze data to make informed trading decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of price forecasting models.
  • Contribute to automation of processes to improve trading efficiency.
By taking on this role, you'll be actively trading in the European energy markets, giving you a direct opportunity to influence and contribute to the ongoing energy transition.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Physical presence in the office is required, but we offer flexibility with remote work arrangements.
