Software Developer/Data Engineer – ETRM Platform Team

Join our ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) Platform Team, where we build, operate, and maintain the core systems that support our trading and risk operations. As a Software Developer/Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in continuously enhancing our ETRM system, essential for trading support and risk management. Our mission is to ensure our platform is reliable, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs—empowering our trading and risk functions to navigate the complexities of energy commodity trading.

Key Responsibilities

  • ETRM Core Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our core ETRM systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs. This includes collaboration with third-party ETRM system providers.
  • Participate in the development of a new analytics platform to support advanced reporting, driving our next-generation data initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the ETRM system setup to maintain operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and develop solutions that meet technical and business needs.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to streamline processes.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to keep our systems at the forefront.

Job Requirements

While experience is valuable, a willingness to learn and grow is even more important:

  • Professional experience in software development, preferably in the energy trading or financial sectors.
  • Familiarity with best practices within cloud software development.
  • Strong programming skills in C# and Python.
  • Experience with database management systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in Python-based data pipeline development.
  • Experience with data analytics platforms such as Fabric or Databricks.
  • Experience with Data Warehouse development and BI.
  • Understanding of ETRM systems and their role in energy trading.
