The team

The Forward Trading Support Team develops tools that help energy traders. These tools provide insights into and visualizations of the vast amount of data related to energy trading. The team’s tasks vary from acquiring and storing data from external sources (scrapers) and developing web-based visualizations (dashboards) to API development to allow other services to access the data. Most of the development in this team is done in Python.

As Norlys Energy Trading currently increases its focus on data-driven decision-making, we are expanding our team to support this strategic initiative.

The team works directly with the front-desk (traders and quants) so the effects of these tools are clearly visible. The team uses iterative processes to capture the requirements of the stakeholders and develop the tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable resilient applications for interfacing with energy markets.
• Collaborate with domain experts across the organization to understand business requirements and develop solutions that meet the needs.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues as they occur in internal applications and against third party applications.
• Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure our application architecture scales with the business.

Requirements

• A university degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or a related engineering field.
• Experience with building software as a software engineer
• Eagerness to learn and a willingness to collaborate
